Toy Safety & Age Recommendations
At Babynesty, your child's safety is our top priority. This page explains the safety standards our toys meet and how to choose age-appropriate products.
Safety standards
All toys sold on our Site comply with applicable UK and EU toy safety regulations, including:
- UK Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011
- EN71 European Toy Safety Standard (parts 1, 2, and 3, covering mechanical/physical properties, flammability, and chemical migration)
- UKCA and/or CE marking, as applicable, displayed on the product and its packaging
[Only state the certifications your toys actually hold — remove any that don't apply, since Google and trading standards authorities require these claims to be accurate and verifiable.]
Age recommendations
Every toy listing on our Site includes a recommended age range. Please always check and follow this recommendation, as it reflects:
- The presence of small parts or choking hazards
- Mechanical or physical safety considerations
- Developmental appropriateness
Age grading is displayed on the product packaging and on each product page.
Choking hazard warning
Some toys contain small parts and are not suitable for children under 3 years old. Where applicable, this warning is clearly stated on the product page and packaging, in line with regulatory requirements.
General safety guidance for parents
- Always supervise young children during play, especially with toys that have small or detachable parts.
- Inspect toys regularly for damage, loose parts, or wear, and discontinue use if any issues are found.
- Keep toys with batteries or magnets away from children if a component becomes loose or damaged, and store spare batteries safely.
- Follow any washing or cleaning instructions provided with fabric or soft toys.
- Dispose of all packaging materials safely, including plastic wrapping, immediately after unboxing, as these can pose a suffocation risk.
Battery safety (if applicable to your toys)
Toys containing batteries are designed with secure, often screw-locked battery compartments to prevent access by children. If a battery compartment becomes damaged, stop use immediately and contact us.
